Conrad Energy are a UK based IPP established by I Squared Capital in 2017 to capitalise on the growth of the distributed energy sector. Over the past 5 years, Conrad Energy has become the UK's largest IPP, boasting a diversified portfolio of assets covering Peak Power, Energy Storage, Behind-the-meter, Grid Stability & more.

We were initially appointed to deliver the Search for a Head of New Business, who would oversee Conrad's entry into new markets and originate a range of growth opportunities for consideration by the investment committee. Following that success, we were appointed to oversee a number of key hires that shaped the platform to continue on its growth trajectory, including reshaping the operations dept are growing their behind-the-meter offering.

In depth analysis of role requirements for each search.
Strategic identification of talent pool, including suitable candidates with experience from other areas of the energy sector.
Implementation of an assessment framework through competency based interviewing.
Implementation of video introductions for all shortlisted candidates, maximising the information available to the hiring team, before they go to interview stage.

The Results

The average project we deliver takes  8 weeks from initial engagement through to completion due to the utilisation of technology and process to minimise the number of interviews required.

Within 12 months, the successful candidate for the Head of Business Development was promoted to the position of Director of Business Development, emphasising the impact they had on the organisation.
