Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners purchased Velox Power in November 2020, with the goal of doubling the platform's asset base and restructuring the team to meet commercial and operational targets. In December 2022, Velox Power was rebranded under the banner of their sister company, Flexitricity.

Sonder & Metric were engaged as a Search partner, tasked with overcoming the significant hiring challenges the platform had experienced, having previously engaged several different recruitment companies.

Our Approach

Working in close partnership with the executive leadership team, we developed a hiring timeline that allowed the platform to meet its strategic goals.
We developed consistent messaging around story and strategy, enabling us to engage and attract high calibre candidates, utilising bespoke Candidate Briefing Packs for each position.
We provided up to date market intelligence to ensure all roles were benchmarked against industry norms.
We implemented a standardised assessment framework, that allowed us to measure technical & functional capability, through competency based interview.
We tested for behavioural fit on a role by role basis. utilising our preferred behavioural assessment provider, The McQuaig Institute.
We provided the leadership team with an online company branded portal, which acted as a centralised platform for all recruitment activity.

The Results

Over an 18 month period, we facilitated 27 hires across the platform, all of whom successfully passed their 6 month probation period. Key appointments have included, Operations Director, Engineering Director, Head of HV, Commercial Manager, Head of EC&I & more.

The success of our process has positioned us as the principal talent partner for all future senior appointments.
